It all started with one of these inspirational pictures that I take while walking through the city, pictures of small details that give birth to different concepts and ways of thinking…

The Mosaique collection is about playing with the perception of a given material and transforming it into a rug, just like when artists paint faux marble on a wall to create the impression of a material. This way of thinking also questions our perception of reality. When applied to a rug the mosaic pattern is transformed into a warm object, and so in a sense, the opposite of how mosaic tiles are usually perceived.

Different modern ceramic patterns have been created. These patterns then interact with one-another through simple geometric shapes that overlap each other and create a general movement in the rugs. The printed process used to make these rugs allows us to use very small and detailed patterns that would be difficult to make by hand.
